GRODNO, 16 January (BelTA) – The recently renovated estate of Michal Kleofas Oginski in Zalesye, Smorgon District, will resume the tradition of balls, BelTA has learned.
The first charity event Ball in Northern Athens will be held on 17 January. Its program features dancing and ball etiquette lessons. The guests will learn how to use hand-held fans. The organizers of the ball will also run a charity auction.
The participants of the ball will be required to observe the dress code: a long evening gown or a 19th-century-style ball dress for women and a tailcoat, a tuxedo or a suit with a white shirt and a bow tie or a cravat for men.
The money from the auction will be spent on exhibition items for the museum estate and for other charitable purposes.
The tickets are available at the Smorgon Local History Museum and at the Oginski estate.
The Oginski estate in Zalesye, Smorgon District, reopened after renovations on 25 September 2014. The restorers made it look as it used to at the time of its famous owner Michal Kleofas Oginski. The works which still need to be done include the beautification of the greenhouse and the installation of clocks and bells on one of the towers. The park, garden, and household outbuildings will also be restored in 2015.
