GRODNO, 19 September (BelTA) – Head of the Belarus President Administration Andrei Kobyakov has praised the progress in the upgrade of the Grodno-based dairy producer Molochny Mir. During his visit to the company Andrei Kobyakov was informed about the state of the project to transform a manufacturing building into a cheese production workshop able to make 40 tonnes of cheese daily, BelTA has learned.
"It is clear why manufacturers were tasked to conduct production upgrade. Molochny Mir is the case when the upgrade is underway at a working enterprise. We should give credit to the company, the upgrade is proceeding well, which is proved by the company's short-term results and economic performance indicators," Andrei Kobyakov said.
He noted that the major objective of the upgrade of such a company is to process more milk, to produce popular products and increase the added value of the output. At the same time, local producers should keep in mind the needs of the domestic market.
According to Molochny Mir Director General Marina Anikeyeva, the number one task for the company is to upgrade the production fast and get the payback soon. The investment project to renovate the cheese-making facility will allow increasing cheese production from 24 tonnes to 40 tonnes daily. The company is also introducing energy efficient technologies with a view to reducing the prime cost of products. Br43.5 billion was invested in the production in 2013. In January-August 2014 nearly Br160 billion of capital investments were made.
The upgrade program aims to improve the company's economic performance, increase output and boost export. Cheese production will meet all the EU requirements. The upgrade will allow increasing milk processing from 600 tonnes to 1,000 tones per day.
